The 35th Annual Troy Victorian Stroll and tree lighting is this Sunday, December 3 in downtown Troy. The Troy High football team will be honored and the Concert Choir will perform beginning at 4:45 p.m. at Monument Square. Student artwork will also be on display in the Atrium windows, visible when walking on 4th Street.

Troy High Football was crowned the NYSPHSAA Class AA Champions for the second year in a row after beating Lancaster High School 41-26 at the Carrier Dome on Sunday. They are the first ever Section 2 team to go undefeated in back-to-back seasons and cap it off with a second state championship title.

Richard Steinbach, a social studies teacher for the last 28 years at Troy High School, teaching American Government and World History, will speak at the Albany County League of Women Voters on Wednesday, December 6. He will be joined by his wife, Pamela Katz, J.D., professor of legal studies and political science at Sage Colleges. The two will speak about educating citizens for participation in democracy.

The Troy High football team is headed back to the Carrier Dome to defend its state title after a 20-13 win over Newburgh Free Academy Saturday night in the Class AA state semifinals. Troy will play Lancaster on Sunday, November 26 at 3 p.m. in Syracuse. A send off with the Troy High Cheerleaders and Band will take place on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. at Troy High School. This event is open to the public.
