Over spring break, the college and career transition liaisons accompanied a group of students to Hudson Valley Community College for their “Enter the College Zone” program. Student learned about college preparation and career exploration. Students even had an opportunity to get some hands-on experience while exploring the dental hygiene program.
Troy High School seniors joined students across the country to celebrate their post-graduation plans. May 1 is National Decision Day, which encourages high school seniors to finalize their college decisions and sport their new school’s gear! Congratulations to everyone whether it be college, a career or the military!
New this year, Troy City School District has partnered with Capital Roots to bring locally grown produce directly to our students. The “Farm to School” program provides fresh produce from farms like Indian Ladder and Goold Orchards to all eight of our buildings. The undefeated Troy High School Quiz Bowl Team is now qualified for yet another national tournament. In addition to the Atlanta NAQT Tournament Memorial Day Weekend, the team is also hoping to attend the PACE tournament in Washington D.C. in June. Locally, they are now qualified for the finals as well.
Troy High School earned first place in Illustration and second place in Graphics at the 37th Olympics of the Visual Arts state-wide competition. The eight students from THS were among more than 900 attendees from 40 districts throughout the state.
