Before the COVID-19 class cancellation, School 2 Student Support Specialist Sam Aronowitz was helping students manage their emotions and learn to focus through the practice of yoga and other mindfulness techniques. Each day students were scheduled to meet with “Mr. A” in the mindfulness room. They did yoga poses and practiced breathing. The result? Students were better able to control their behavior and emotions on their own once back in the classroom and at home. The Troy City School District is pleased to announce that we will begin using the Raptor Technologies Visitor Management System in all of our schools to strengthen the security for our students and faculty. We will begin rolling out the technology in our schools after Winter Break. Upon entering a district building, visitors will be asked to present an ID. The Raptor system will check to ensure that registered sexual offenders are not entering our school campuses without our knowledge.
