Students in the Alternative Learning Program at School 12 in Troy received some positive advice from a special visitor Thursday afternoon. Matt Breida, a running back with the San Francisco 49ers, spoke to students about making smart choices and valuing their education.

The My Brother’s Keeper program at School 12 aims to improve academic performance as well as to reduce disciplinary action for young men. Through mentors and incentives, students are learning about citizenship and character, while improving their grades.

On Friday, March 16, there will be a full scale active shooter training exercise at Troy High School between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. This drill will include the response from local, county and state emergency service agencies. This is a professional development day for the entire district, therefore there is no school at any of our buildings. NO STUDENTS WILL BE PARTICIPATING.

All Troy CSD students who get school breakfast and lunch each day of the month will be entered into a drawing to win an iPad. Monthly drawings at each Troy CSD school. Students must be present each day that school is in session. Nutritious meals keep kids healthy and focused. As always, breakfast and lunch is FREE for all students.
