Over the past four years, Satya Groff has left a lasting mark on Troy High School as a dedicated and accomplished student.

As the Valedictorian of her class, Satya has continually strived for excellence, earning distinctions such as the AP Scholar Award, RIT Art & Design Award, and being recognized as a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student. Her academic mastery also led to nominations for prestigious scholarships, including the 2024 US Presidential Scholarship and scholarships from RIT, Nazareth College, and Wagner College.

Satya’s involvement in the performing arts is equally remarkable, highlighted by her participation in the New Visions Performing Arts Program, Drama Club, Music Club, and Honor Choir. She has showcased her musical talents at renowned festivals such as the Albany Pro Music High School Choral Festival and Pro Musica International Choral Festival. Satya’s artistic flair has been celebrated through awards at OVA for Illustration and Drawing. Satya was the recipient of the Louis Henry Gross Foundation Scholarship, The New York State Comptroller Achievement Award, The New York State Board of Regents Merit Scholarship for Academic Excellence, The Principal’s High Honors recognition, The Annual Capital Region Business & Education Partnership Scholars’ Recognition, The Cultural Art and Music Award for Performing Arts, The National Choral Award, The Elaine Tear and Lucy Millhouse Howard Memorial Award for Music and The Elizabeth Buckley Memorial Award.

Beyond her academic and artistic endeavors,Satya is a dedicated member of the community, contributing her time to volunteer work at SVC Nursery and engaging in advocacy through the National Honor Society and United Allies. With an exceptional GPA of 99.28%, completion of five AP courses, and earning 19 college credits, Satya Groff exemplifies the epitome of academic excellence and well-rounded involvement in her high school journey.

Satya plans to attend Nazareth College where she will study Musical Theatre.

Maia Rua is the Salutatorian of the Class of 2024 with a grade point average of 97.47.

She has taken advantage of all Troy High has to offer. Always taking a rigorous all-honors, AP and college course load, she will graduate with an impressive 24 college credits from Hudson Valley Community College.

She is the recipient of the Nancy Burns Scholarship, awarded for academic ability and merit, the Triple “C” Award, awarded by the New York Attorney General’s Office to recognize the “Character, Courage, and Commitment” of New York State’s hard-working students and The Student Council Leadership Award given to a student who has shown outstanding leadership in the Student Council. She is also the recipient of The Troy High School Italian Club Awards for Academic Excellence over 4 years and for Academic Excellence and Outstanding Service to the Italian Club, The United Allies Award for excellent leadership qualities and inclusion of others within the school community, and The Christopher Columbus Scholarship.

Maia was also given the CASDA Scholar Recognition Award to honor the outstanding graduating seniors from high schools throughout the region.  As a junior Maia received the Lela B. Capon Scholarship awarded to an outstanding student of the junior class. Maia is involved in a wide variety of activities, she is a member of National Honor Society (11th &12th), The Treasurer for Student Council (9th-12th), Yearbook Club (9th-12th), The Treasurer for Italian Club (9th-12th) and Captain of the Varsity Soccer Team (10th-12th).

Maia will attend Syracuse University in the fall to study Biology (Pre-Med).
