Kayne Behan, Kolin Behan and Joey Degnan have all advanced to the State Qualifiers for Boys Varsity Golf.

After the Section II tournament on October 12, three of the remaining 42 golfers wear purple and gold! Kayne Behan, Kolin Behan and Joey Degnan made it through Sectionals and are moving on to the state qualifiers. With Classes A, B, C, and D combined, these 42 golfers will now compete in the state championship.

This is the first time in many years that Troy had a team participate in the Section II tournament, and having three golfers advance to the state qualifiers is an impressive achievement, especially in the Suburban Council.

“I can’t express how proud I am of our whole team this year, but especially Kayne, Kolin and Joey,” said Coach Jack O’Keefe. “They all put in so much extra effort to improve their short game, which is one reason why we’ve been so successful this year. This is a huge accomplishment for Troy High, and having three of our golfers move on was the talk of the tournament.”

“Sectionals was a great experience,” said Kolin Behan. “I’m glad I was able to be part of it this year because last year, I just missed qualifying. We really improved going into this year, and it showed.”

“It is great to see a huge improvement in Troy High’s golf program over the last few years,” said Degnan. “Our team has evolved from only a few players to a full team. Among this new and improved team are friends (and even family) that I have grown up playing many sports with. That’s made this year’s golf season all the better. We are looking forward to continuing to build a bright future for Troy High Golf.”
