Hello 6th Grade Families!
Welcome to Troy Middle School! We are excited for you to join us for the 2023-2024 school year. We understand transitioning to TMS is both new and exciting for students and families. We look forward to building great relationships with each family. Please know we are here to support you always!
We invite our incoming students and at least one parent/guardian to join us on Wednesday, August 30th, for an in-person TMS Grade 6 Orientation and Meet and Greet. At our TMS Meet and Greet, there will be opportunities to meet the Troy Middle School Administrative Team, school counselor, special area and classroom teachers and learn more about TMS. Everyone will also have a chance to visit their homeroom class and enjoy a tour of TMS. During your visit, students will be able to drop off school supplies to their homeroom class and practice opening their locker. Each student will be provided with a school-issued Chromebook during the month of September. We are happy to be able to have you in prior to the start of the school year!
We are offering three (2) sessions for orientation (listed at the bottom of this letter) organized by the student’s last name. We ask that you please attend during your designated session for orientation.
As a reminder, all required immunizations including the T-Dap shot for any student who is 11 years old or older, will be needed in order to start the school year. If you have not done so already, please be sure to make an appointment with your child’s pediatrician to receive the NYS-required immunizations so that he/she may start school on time.
