Troy High School will hold its second annual 9th-grade orientation on Wednesday, September 6th, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Troy High School. Transportation will be offered from all elementary schools. The buses will leave for the high school at 11:45 a.m. Students should show up at least 10 minutes early at the stop to make sure they arrive before the bus.
Students being transported to the high school for the orientation program by means other than district transportation should be dropped off at the Main Entrance. Then enter the building via the front steps no earlier than 12:00 p.m.
Upon arrival at the high school, students will be directed to their new locker assignment. Students will use this time to organize their lockers for the school year. Locker assignments, combinations, and class schedule will all be available on the student portal on August 22nd at 12:00pm. Click here to access the student portal using Clever. After the students find their lockers, they will report to their first-period class. The students will go through a shortened school day to help ease some stress and questions about the first day of school. They will understand how to navigate through the building, and see their classes, the gymnasium, and the cafeteria. After 9th period, students will report to the auditorium. Students will meet the principal, assistant principals and school counselors. Upperclassmen and staff will be in the hallways to help the students navigate the day. The students will also be introduced to a variety of clubs, athletic teams, and activities available at the high school.
All students will be dismissed at 2:30 p.m. from the Troy Middle School Auditorium. Those who rode a bus to the orientation program will return home on district transportation back to their elementary school; students who walked or arrived via other means of transportation to the program will be dismissed at the same time.
