School 14 hosted a family engagement event through the district’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) initiative and WMHT.

On Tuesday, March 24, School 14 hosted guests from WMHT Educational Television to offer an after school family activity. The event was planned through the district’s My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) initiative and led by WMHT Public Media‘s Family Learning Services Coordinator Barbara Lukas. They read the book “Bear Snores On” by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman together, then retold the story using pictures. Students and their families then worked together to make crafts based on the story. The event also gave teachers and school staff a great opportunity to connect with families about something other than schoolwork while also building community within the school.
